The Solaris Centre, located on the South Promenade is set in Four Acres of garden and is the first major Blackpool Council building to intergrate a high level of energy-efficient features in its design.

Blackpool Zoo

Just two miles from the sea-front of Britain’s busiest resort, Blackpool Zoo provides a home to more than 1500 exotic animals that include lions, tigers, elephants, gorillas and also families of rare primates. Here you will find a wonderful world of animals and reptiles also exotic birds in naturalistic environments surrounded by 32 acres of mature parkland and lakes.

The Zoo provides new standards of animal care and aims to provide a stimulating, informative and enjoyable experience that demonstrates its role in the conservation of endangered species.The Zoo is also home to some of the most exciting animal features to be found in Europe including the animal park’s award winning Gorilla Mountain – a breathtaking close encounter with these powerful and beautiful animals.
 
Blackpool Zoo is also home to the Children's Zoo A chance for younger visitors to meet and even feed some of our friendly domestic animals in a special walk round area.

Blackpool Pleasure Beach

Blackpool offers a wealth of attractions and activities. The most famous and the reason for much of the town’s success is the Pleasure Beach.

The UK’s premier theme parks offers around 150 rides and attracts millions of visitors annually. Major rides include the Pepsi Max Big One, one of the tallest and fastest in Europe, and Valhalla, the world’s biggest water-borne dark ride.

Sandcastle Waterworld

If you enjoy getting wet and having lots of fun then Sandcastle Waterworld is just the place for a great day out. As an award winning attraction they've been entertaining families and creating thrilling days out for over twenty years. Situated opposite Blackpool Pleasure Beach this indoor water-park is on the seaside of the promenade.

The development of the Sandcastle over the past few years has included stunning new attractions such as the Hyperzone thrill rides, but be warned queues can build up at peak times, so its advisable to arrive early. Arriving early means you can enjoy the Masterblaster, the longest indoor waterslide rollercoaster and the vertical drop of Sidewinder before the rush and then it leaves the rest of the day free to explore and enjoy the rest of the Waterworld attractions at your leisure.

There are a full range of gifts and souvenirs available in the shop and a choice of eateries. These include Bongo Bongo burger shack, serving meals and snacks, Skinny Dippers Garden Bar, serving a range of healthy dishes and Waterfalls Cafe with a range of snacks and refreshments.

Stanley Park

Stanley Park can be a peaceful place to take in the sea air and relax amongst the formal gardens with their beautifully kept flower borders. There are fountains and paths enough for you to find your own quiet haven for the afternoon.
 
Your kids can enjoy themselves at the play area. You can indulge yourself in the sun with a game of pitch and putt, crazy golf or bowls or enjoy yourself on the boating lake.
 
It is also home to a multipurpose sports centre that incorporates a climbing wall and has facilities covering all manner of racquet, court and ball sports (badminton, netball, basketball etc) There are hockey and soccer pitches and an athletics track.
